Benissa

Benissa is an attractive town with stunning landscapes. It has 4 kilometers of coastline with some of the Costa Blanca’s most beautiful coves. The town is surrounded by mountains such as those of Bernia, ideal for walking routes.

Benissa is a very old town on the Costa Blanca, inland around 6-8 km from the beaches with a lot of history and many monuments. Outstanding are the Renaissance-style monastery and the Neogothic-style Catedral de la Marina. The historic centre has been able to preserve its distinct medieval character: white walls, grids, coats of arms, and flowers at balconies. An example is the Calle Desamparados, full of stately houses with wrought iron grilles.

The coast scene is rugged of over 4 kilometers with rocky coves, cliffs and pebbled beaches. On the coastline you will find tranquil coves with the deep blue sea. Its crystal clear water is an excellent setting for water sports such as scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing and kayaking. Hiking is another activity available in the area. Spectacular cliffs cut into the rocks contrast with high mountains creating a landscape.
