Calpe Calpe is a very well known tourist town in the North of the Costa Blanca. The old town is worth wandering around, along the narrow streets, visiting the church, some historical buildings and squares. In the summer months there are crafts fairs in the old town. The town is plenty of shops. The “Penon de Ifach” is an amazing landmark. This is a gigantic granite rock right on the beach , over 600 meters high. The Peñon de Ifach also is a Natural Park. You can climb to the top. Calpe has 13 kilometres of coastline ideal for bathing and water sports. The three sandy beaches are: Playa la Fossa, Playa Cantal Roig, and the superb beach Arenal-Bol. Playa de la Fossa is an excellent beach with golden sand and best facilities. There are also several children’s play areas, tennis courts and even a bowling green. The beach area is marred by many high-rise buildings. The promenade (Playa Levante) invites for long walks. Play areas for kids are lovely. Dozens of restaurants, bars and clubs offer a wide variety of food, drink and entertainment. The nightlife scene is quite lively. As most places in the Costa Blanca, Calpe is overcrowded in summer.
