Javea

Javea is a classical tourist town with long sandy beaches. Javea is divided into three parts: Javea Pueblo (the old town), Javea Puerto with the bustling port area; and Playa de Arenal. The old town invites for strolling around in the ancient narrow streets where you enjoy the ambience of the white washed houses and small romantic places. It’s also worth to visit the gothic fortified church of San Bartolommeo in the centre of the town. Near the church in a gothic palace inside is the archeological and ethnological museum.

The port still functions as a fishing port with yachts moored in the same vicinity. It is very much a lively area. The visitors are attracted by its lovely promenade with open air terrace restaurants and lovely bars. Views across the bay are spectacular. Javea still keeps his typical character of a fishing village from the past.

Playa de Arenal is Javea’s beach area. The large and wide Arenal beach is excellent for families. The coastline with its hidden coves and sandy beaches, perfect for sunbathers and scuba divers, is a bit secluded. It’s a peaceful feeling to walk along the sea promenade. Because of strong restrictions there are no high-rise buildings such as in other Costa Blanca towns like Calpe or Benidorm.

The resort is a bustling area with many shops, crafts, cafes, bars and restaurants. The area is surrounded by beautiful green hills and lies in the shadow of the dominating Montgo Mountain with Denia on the northern side. For many people Javea is the finest cosmopolitan place on the whole Costa Blanca. But the airports Alicante and Valencia are around 110 km away.
