Pilar de la Horadada

Pilar de la Horadada is a nice beach town 20 km south of Torrevieja, near the sea and situated near the border to the province of Murcia. There is an archaeological and ethnological museum. It has some sections dedicated to the environment, to fossils, numismatics and ethnology. In the centre of the town is the “Iglesia de Ntra. Sra. del Pilar”. Furthermore you will find the tower from old times; named “Torre Vigía de las playas de Pilar de la Horadada”.

The town has a coastline of four kilometers of white and sandy beaches which contrast with its cultivated lands of vegetables and fruit trees, and with a genuine nature environment.

This peculiar environment is worth of an excursion and is one on which visitors can enjoy fragrant plants such as rosemary, thyme or “lentiscos” and other plants. Informative panels explain the flora and fauna of the region. There is full range of services between small residential districts and extensive green areas.
