Rojales

The beautiful village (or town) of Rojales is situated inland from Guaradamar del Segural, lying on the banks of the Segura River. The town is a combination of tradition and culture with the modern lifestyle.

South of Rojales is the Parque Natural de La Mata and de Torrevieja with the two salt lakes. With over 200 species of birds such as flamingos, avocets, grebe, stilts and black-necked zampullines (a type of water bird) one could feel like in a paradise.

The natural park consists of three distinct areas: the lagoons and salt marshes, the reed beds and the undergrowth. There are magnificent views of the salt lakes and also of the sea.

Up on the hill at Quesada is the Aqua Park with its various slides and pools and a great view of the surrounding countryside.
